Want to be in Bandai’s next Tamagotchi commercial? Well this could be your chance! A representative from Sideshow Productions has just reached out to inform us that they need a bunch of photos from Tamagotchi fans to be featured in the next commercial!
Now we think its safe to assume that this is for the upcoming P1 & P2 replica releases here in the United States, but we cannot confirm that at this time. Sideshow Productions is super excited because they never get to include fans in their ad work. They have the approval to give $100-$300 per Tamagotchi related photography licensing.
Here’s exactly what they’re looking for:
A. Any photos of kids with their Tamagotchi from the 1990’s
B. Any photo’s that you’re dressed up as Tamagotchi, Cosplay, Halloween, or even just wearing a few Tamagotchi’s as fashion accessories.
C. Any photos of a casket or funeral or burial for your beloved Tamagotchi that may have passed away too soon! (if it includes you crying at the event -that is a major plus)
D. A photo of you and your amazing Tamagotchi collection!
E. Anything you want to share that shows how much you love your Tamagotchi or what a hardcore fan you are.
Send your photographs to Jacob, firstname.lastname@example.org and CC email@example.com. Feel free to reach out to Jacob with any questions that you might have. Let them know Tama-Palace sent you! Oh, and they’re looking for these by THIS WEEKEND! The early bird normally gets the worm, so send your photos ASAP, who knows, you might just be featured in the next commercial! How exciting!
We’ve been waiting to hear something about a new Tamagotchi for a few months now. Bandai tends to release new devices either in the summer or fall of every year, or lately, every other year. Well its about that time where we start seeing some leaks, and this year does NOT disappoint! We’ve got a whole bunch of leaked images and information, this is courteously of the Tamagotchi Facebook group. The original source is a suppliers flyer/magazine that features the upcoming toys for the season.
First off, lets start by introducing the name… Tamagotchi Meets. The new Tamagotchi Meets looks very similar to the Tamagotchi M!X, it appears to feature the same shell shape and similar color scheme. It also appears that this version drops the cracked egg front plate design. There will also be two initial versions of the Tamagotchi Meet, similar to what we saw with the M!X which featured both the Spacy and Melody versions. The initial two versions will be a Fairy and Magical version, we’ll go into further detail below.
The Tamagotchi Meet features gameplay almost identical to the Tamagotchi M!X, where you will still be able to marry and created mixed characters thanks to genetics. However, this version adds some more features which introduces a whole lot of fun! For the first time Bandai will be introducing the ability to raise twins! There is even more to get excited about, pets are BACK! There are 8 pets to choose from and you will be able to take are of them and bring them with you almost everywhere, this is very similar to previous versions, but there is more! You will now be able to not only raise your pet, but your pet can even get married and have children of its own! What’s really cool is that the M!X concept applies to pets too! So we can see a whole bunch of different types of pets!
Now let’s talk characters; everyones favorite. There are a bunch of new characters featured on the Tamagotchi Meets, there are a total of 29 characters, about 18 new characters joining 11 of your favorites (welcome back, Kikitchi!).
The Tamagotchi M!X Station is here to stay! You’ll be able to visit and even marry exclusive characters, buy new items, and much much more. It appears that you’ll get exclusive items from different characters that you meet on the M!X Station, which are seasonal. We’re not entirely sure if the name M!X Station will stay, or perhaps Bandai will have a new naming convention. We wouldn’t be surprised if the existing stations and newer stations will be backward compatible.
We’ve saved the best for last. There will be an exclusive Tamagotchi application that we are told will be HUGE! The application will allow you to send your character from your device to the application on your smartphone or tablet through Bluetooth connectivity. On this application you can interact with any other user, so you can play with your friends who live far away. Keep in mind this application we are being told is a Japan exclusives and will be available on both Android and iOS.
The Tamagotchi Meets can connect with the Tamagotchi M!X, however some functions are not available.
How about accessories? Well it looks like your favorite lanyards are back! These new lanyards were introduced with the Tamagotchi M!X, and they’ll be getting a minor refresh this fall by featuring new characters and colors along with exclusive charms.
Although information is limited we hope you enjoyed reading a bit about the Tamagotchi Meets that is scheduled to be released in November of 2018. We will keep you posted as new information rolls in, and we will definitely be more than happy to answer your questions.

2017 Tamagotchi P1 & P2 Appear in GameStop Inventory System
Ladies and gentlemen, its the moment we’ve been waiting for! Bandai America has done an excellent job drowning us in every single series of the 2017 Tamagotchi Mini, but this time, it appears we’re getting the real deal.
A GameStop employee was snooping around the inventory system and discovered some new Tamagotchi products, specifically the 2017 P1 & P2 which were just released in Japan on November 23rd 2017 to wrap-up the 20th anniversary festivities.
A Tamagotchi fan on Imgur has posted images of the GameStop inventory showing off the new P1 & P2’s which are scheduled to hit shelves on August 15th 2018! Although this seems pretty far out, its uncertain whether there will be pre-orders. There are a whole bunch of shell designs that have been leaked on a popular toy website, Toy Panic. Theres a mix of original shells you’ve seen in the late 90’s in the United States along with some new designs too.
It appears that Bandai will be branding these as “Tamagotchi Original”, which they believe will differentiate them from the 2017 Mini. The list price for the 2017 P1 & P2’s are set at $19.99, merely $5.00 more than the 2017 Tamagotchi Mini’s. If you ask us, the additional functionality is well worth $5.00. Following in the footsteps of Bandai Japan, Bandai America is bringing the 2017 Tamagotchi Mini to the United States! We couldn’t be happier, but we must say we are not surprised. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the original Tamagotchi here in the United States Bandai is releasing the 2017 Tamagotchi Mini and bringing Tamagotchi back to America.
Placing their bets on nostalgia Bandai America is hoping that fans that nurtured the original virtual pet in 1997 will purchase the new 2017 Tamagotchi Mini decorated in the original 6 Japanese shell designs. The 2017 Mini is identical to the one just recently released in Japan, with the ability to raise 6 characters, however the packaging is a bit different. The 2017 Mini will feature unique packaging resembling the original packaging to pay tribute to the original version released in the United States. We can definitely see ourselves purchasing more than one for our collection!
“For many Generation X kids, the Tamagotchi device can be considered America’s first and favorite digital pet,” says Tara Badie, marketing director for Bandai America. “The enduring power of Tamagotchi is its clear expression that nurturing and love never goes out of style. It’s such an honor to bring back one of the most beloved toys in a way that captures the magic and joy of a generation while embracing the sensibilities of new generations.”
The device is definitely being marketed for its nostalgia, hoping that fans back in the 90’s and perhaps even in the early 2000’s with the Connection devices will want to relive the good old days. This definitely seems like a good approach as many millennials have been flocking to nostalgic products that have been re-released.
The 2017 Tamagotchi Mini will be available this November in the United States, pre-orders will be available starting October 10th at various North American retailers for $14.99. As retailers post their pre-orders we will definitely keep you updated!
So what do you think about Bandai America releasing the 2017 Tamagotchi Mini in the United States for the 20th anniversary? Will you be ordering it? We want to hear from you!
