I’ve spent the last 24 hours working on doing 1:1 animations of the original Tamagotchi sprites, Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought it’d lead me to discover that the baby animation is more complex than ANY other character.
For reference: most other characters use animations that last 4, 12, or 16 frames. The second longest is the animation Marutchi/Tonmarutchi and Kuchipatchi/Hashizotchi use, which is 28 frames.
The baby animation is 36 frames. Also, they vary between moving two to three spaces to the side, whereas every other character tends to move two spaces across. And because they’re so small, it was ridiculously hard to capture the animation; I had to record Shirobabytchi on my phone, and look at the blur between movements in order to accurately place each frame.
